Lenovo buys Motorola Mobility from Google

Lenovo has bought Motorola Mobility from Google for $2.91 billion. Google purchased Motorola in 2012 for roughly $12 billion. The only major device to be released from Motorola while under Google was the Moto X, which was well received by most reviewers and customers. It’s unclear what Lenovo’s plans are, though the company is a growing Chinese technology company — it’s likely that they wanted a road into the profitable North American smartphone market.
