The App Store can be a difficult place for developers to work in. Apps can be pulled for seemingly no explanation at any time, which leaves both developers and customers in a state of confusion. Ecoute, my favorite music player for iOS, recently suffered this fate. Luckily, it will soon be back in Apple’s App Store.
Ecoute was pulled because it accessed a private API to allow users to edit the “up next” feature even if the music had been originally played in the stock Music app. Version 2.1.1 will fix this, and thus will allow the app to return to the App Store. Good news for anyone who, like me, loves the app and its features. Here’s to more updates as good as version 2.1, which brought an “Up Next” feature.
