A patent that was originally filed in 2007 has surfaced, and it details ways of making a mobile device easier to use when in motion.
The perfect example is jogging, and listening to music. As it currently exists, the music app is the same design regardless of movement. This is fine for when you are sitting around, but using a device while moving is more difficult. Under this patent, the music app could become just a skip, back, and pause button, or else more prominence would be put on those controls to make the app easier to use in specific circumstances.
Apple files hundreds of patents, and this doesn’t mean that the concept will make its way into any version of iOS — regardless, it’s interesting to think of the ways that this could apply to iOS.
