Earlier this month, there were reports that Apple had purchased a large swath of land to be used for a data center. Around the same time, rumors were spreading about an iTunes cloud service, so it was thought that this data center would be used for a music streaming service of some sort. Now, All Things D is reporting that Apple purchased the lot across the street as well, an additional 70 acres. (on top of the original 183.)
This amount of land must mean that Apple has something big cooking, perhaps a suped-up iDisk system for Lion, or a Spotify buyout. (Though, Spotify denied this.) Whatever it is, it should be pretty interesting.
