The next-generation of gaming is here at long last, and with it comes a deluge of new features and capabilities. Among those capabilities is the ability to interact with the console and its respective networks via a smartphone or tablet.
The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 companion apps are comparable feature-wise. Neither app is particularly appealing in terms of design, as each tries to stay in line with the visual language of their respective console. It’s makes for a somewhat disappointing iOS app in some ways.
Ultimately, these second-screen and companion apps are a necessity for anyone with a next-generation console — after all, both are free, and only enhance your gaming experience.
