While the iPhone 5c may still be far too costly off-contract (at $549 for the cheapest model), many retailers are battling it out to offer Apple’s latest “budget” offering for cheaper and cheaper prices. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Walmart is dropping the price of the 16 GB iPhone 5c to just $45 when purchased with a new two-year contract. A Walmart spokesperson says the promotion will last until “the end of the holiday season.”
The news comes shortly after Best Buy announced that it would be offering the phone at half-price, and Radioshack quickly matching that offer. Also worth noting in the land of iPhone 5c promotions is Sprint’s new deal which proudly touts the phone being absolutely free if you switch from another carrier. Do any of these deals, Walmart’s included, give you any further motivation to pick the iPhone 5c as your next phone? Sound off in the comments.
