Apple’s new “spaceship” campus clears Cupertino Planning Commission

Apple revealed its plans for a new, larger campus way back in 2011 in a meeting with the Cupertino City Council. After two years of early planning and preparation, the campus has cleared Cupertino’s Planning Commission, and will now go before the Cupertino City Council for a final vote on whether or not to approve the project.

Presented by Steve Jobs in 2011, the design of the campus was supposedly influenced by his design taste. The campus itself appears designed to encourage collaboration by employees, as well as having a minimal impact on the surrounding environment. All signs point to the current plans passing through the City Council without a hitch.
