Rumor: Apple to Introduce New iPad on October 15th

iPad-4G-Fourth-Gen-LightningApple is rumored to hold its next media event on Tuesday, October 15th, according to French website MacGeneration. At the event, which should take place in San Francisco, Apple is expected to unveil its next-generation iPad and potentially new Macs or other products.

In particular, the fifth-generation iPad is expected to have a thinner bezel akin to the iPad mini. If there are new Macs released, they are very likely to be updated with Intel’s latest Haswell processors. OS X Mavericks, which is expected in late October, should be preinstalled on these machines.

If this rumor proves true, it would be consecutive years that Apple has both a September event for iPhone and October event for iPad. Last year, the company introduced the iPhone 5 in September and followed up with the fourth-generation iPad and smaller iPad mini in October.
