According to a report this morning from 9to5Mac, Apple appears to already be testing upcoming iterative releases of iOS 7 prior to the software’s official public release. Web analytics for 9to5Mac are showing visits from devices running 7.0.1, 7.0.2, and even iOS 7.1. While there is no sure-fire way to prove these are legitimate, most visits via these versions of iOS are coming from physical locations in and around Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
iOS 7 is slated for its first public release on Wednesday, September 18th. In the coming months you can expect to see the release of one or more of the above iterative versions, with 7.1 likely to bring a few minor new features or support for more devices such as the iPad in the coming months. 7.0.1 and 7.0.2, on the other hand, will likely be strictly bug fix-related releases (if and when they come to fruition).
