Apple today introduced the long-rumored iPhone 5C in five different vibrant colors: lime green, white, blue, pink, and yellow. The handset has a seamless design made from hard-coated polycarbonate plastic, with a steel-enforced structure that also serves as the built-in cellular antenna.
The all-new iPhone 5C features a 4-inch Retina display, Apple-designed A6 chip, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, new FaceTime HD camera with improved backside illumination, LTE and dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a higher capacity battery. A traditional home button without a fingerprint scanner is used.
Apple will be selling the iPhone 5C for $99 and $199 for 16 GB and 32 GB models respectively, although a new two-year contract is still required. Pre-orders begin this Friday. An all-new silicon case with a connect-the-four-type hole design on the back will be sold in a variety of colors for $29 each.
