Sony today officially announced the QX10 and QX100 lens-style cameras. These devices are compatible with both Android and iPhone devices.
While many criticized the early leaks as being a goofy idea, I disagree. Frankly, I want one. If these devices work as I imagine them to, they may be the type of camera that I have been looking for for years. They are both small enough to be carried around, and they interface directly with a smartphone or tablet, which will always be a more powerful platform for photo management and manipulation than the camera itself. The prices are also decent: $250 for the cheaper option, and $500 for the more expensive sensor.
