This tutorial will highlight how to play multiplayer on Minecraft: Pocket Edition, the mobile adaptation of the popular cube-based game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Enabling multiplayer requires purchasing Multiplayer for Minecraft PE ($2.99) from the App Store, which its creators argue is less than the price of a cheeseburger.
Minecraft PE currently restricts multiplayer to a local Wi-Fi network, and Multiplayer for Minecraft PE expands on that by allowing users to join servers on other Wi-Fi networks. Simply open the app, setup your server name and information, tap the save button, double-tap the home button to pull up the multitasking bar, return to the Minecraft: Pocket Edition app and select which map you would like to use.
Anyone that also has the Multiplayer for Minecraft PE app will be able to search for and join the server you have created, as illustrated in the user-made video above. Keep it locked on iFans for further Minecraft PE tutorials, and be sure to visit our official Minecraft & Pocket Edition (PE) section on the discussion forums.
