VLC Makes Surprising Return to App Store

largeVLCVLC is an open-source, cross-platform media player that supports a variety of audio and video file formats and compression methods, providing a seamless and quick experience for those that are trying to play a media file. VLC, akin to a common expression said about the iPhone, is something that “just works.”

After a dispute between licensing agreements with Apple, however, VLC was removed from the App Store. But, after a two year hiatus, the app is set to make a triumphant — and rather surprising — return. The app will contain new features, including Wi-Fi content uploading, and should hit the App Store later today.
