Renderings of Low-Cost iPhone Make it Attractive

Earlier today, we showed you photos of the purported affordable iPhone’s back plate that surfaced via French website Nowhereelse. Not long after, MacRumors posted a story explaining that they once again commissioned Ciccarese Design–this time to show us exactly what Apple’s cheap iPhone would look like based on the leaked images. I was hesitant about the design upon seeing the “leaked” parts, but these images have reassured me that Apple knows exactly what they’re doing.

Based on all of this recent information, we once again commissioned Ciccarese Design to produce some high-quality mockups intended to capture the lower-cost iPhone’s size, shape, and texture given that it will mark a departure from the nearly all metal and glass bodies of recent iPhone models.

The high resolution mockups are based off of photos released via WeiPhone last weekend, which show the rumored device in yellow, red, and green colors. The renderings show a slightly thicker device as compared to the iPhone 5, and feature volume buttons that have moved to a pill-shaped design like that of the 5th generation iPod touch. Hit the break to see the rest of the photos.
