Yesterday, 9to5Mac‘s Mark Gurman told us that Apple’s 2013 “Back to School” promotion was likely to start this week. This morning it appears he was right. Over at the Apple online store, you’ll find a new page boasting an offer to get a $100 iTunes gift card with the purchase of a qualifying Mac. Not only that, but the page suggests students can get a $50 iTunes gift card with the purchase of an iPad or iPhone as well.
To qualify for the App Store Gift Card and get education pricing on a Mac, you must be a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying for a college student, or a faculty or staff member from any grade level.
To take advantage of the offer, head over to the Apple Online Store for Education, an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Campus Store. The awarded gift card can be used on the iTunes Store, the App Store, the iBookstore, and/or the Mac App Store.
For those that purchased a qualifying Mac within the last 30 days, you may head to an Apple retail store and ask to return and repurchase your item. Apple’s return policy states that you may return a product within 30 days no questions asked, and you may use these funds to repurchase the same model while taking advantage of this offer.
