While the next-generation iPhone is expected to retain the same exterior design as the iPhone 5, a new report claims that the handset is in store for a “significant internal redesign” when it launches later this year. High-resolution photos obtained by BGR, from an anonymous source, reveal redesigned hardware that may improve various iPhone features and make room for other new components.

The parts pictured at the source article are the “loud-speaker bracket, ear speaker bracket, vibrating motor assembly, Wi-Fi flex cable ribbon and SIM card tray,” according to the report, and each has noticeable changes. Moreover, a gold SIM card tray hints that a future iPhone model will be offered in a myriad of new colors. The so-called “iPhone 5S” is expected to launch this fall alongside the iOS 7 software update.
