Apple on Thursday released iOS 6.1.4 as a minor update for iPhone 5. No other iOS devices are believed to be eligible for this build, and the update was not preceded by any sort of beta testing by developers. An “updated audio profile for speakerphone” is the only item listed on the changelog. The update weighs in at 18.2 MB and is available on iTunes or over-the-air by tapping Settings > General > Software Update.
As always, anyone with a jailbroken iPhone should stay away from this update until further notice. Apple patched the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak as of iOS 6.1.3 and later, and iOS 6.1.4 is no exception. Anyone that wishes to jailbreak their iPhone in the future should also refrain from this update, until word is provided from prominent iOS hackers in MuscleNerd and so forth.
