Angry Birds Friends
Finnish game studio Rovio Entertainment has had runaway success with its insanely popular Angry Birds franchise, ever since the original game debuted well over three years ago. Since then, we’ve seen countless spin-offs and extensions of the game: Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space and Bad Piggies. And, as announced by Rovio earlier today, Angry Birds Friends will debut on Thursday as the next game on that list. iOS and Android support in tow.

Square Register updated
The Square Register app, a mobile payment service that allows iOS devices to accept credit card transactions, has been updated today (via 9to5Mac) with new features for merchants, including customizable item libraries, a smarter payment pad, the ability for customers to enter custom tip amounts and overall improvements to the user interface.
Reeder goes standalone
Reeder has long been a popular RSS feed app that relied on Google Reader for its backend. But since Google is shutting down Reader as of July 1st, Reeder has been forced to seek other alternatives. Today, following an update, the app gained support for third-party syncing service Feedbin and the ability to be used as a standalone RSS reader.
