The widespread success of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones has certainly inspired at least a few other companies to release a range of celebrity-endorsed headphones on the market. American rapper Ludacris offers the Soul lineup of headphones, while fellow rapper Curtis Jackson — 50 Cent — founded SMS Audio to push his STREET by 50 over-ear and SYNC by 50 in-ear headphones.
And now, Jackson is set to appear on live television tonight, on the QVC home shopping channel, to promote his new lineup of exclusive colors that the STREET by 50 headphones will be available in. The new headphones will retail for $179.95 and will be offered in the following colors for a limited time only: cobalt blue, green, orange, magenta, red and teal. QVC will also sell an exclusive purple color until May 31st.
“SMS Audio is all about giving our fans the finest experience we possibly can,” said 50 Cent, CEO of SMS Audio. “The response to the limited edition colors for our STREET by 50 Wired Over-Ear headphones spoke for itself – the fans want the opportunity to match their headphones to their personal style, and we definitely want to make sure to give them what they want.”
The STREET by 50 over-ear headphones are designed with ultra-plush memory foam for a comfortable fit, with professionally tuned 40mm drivers and passive noise cancellation. The lineup of headphones is certainly stylish, but also expensive. What do you think of celebrity-endorsed headphones like Beats by Dr. Dre, Soul by Ludacris, or STREET by 50 Cent? Would you want a pair, or this is just another gimmick?
