Well-known iOS hacker Joshua Hill (@p0sixninja), best known as a former member of the Chronic-Dev Team, made a series of tweets just hours ago, claiming that he has discovered the required exploits for yet another iOS 6 jailbreak. The good news comes nearly two months after the first iOS 6 untethered jailbreak was released, which Apple patched in the iOS 6.1.3 software update.
Hill assures that the evad3rs group, which released the first jailbreak, has not gone anywhere; instead, the hacker has simply discovered his own exploits on his own time during the past few months. The fact that Hill has exploits that can be used towards a future jailbreak, coupled with claims that “evasi0n won’t be the last,” is music to the ears of the ever-growing jailbreaking community.
If these hackers do plan on releasing another public jailbreaking method, a challenging decision must be made. That is, to release another iOS 6 jailbreak, or save the exploits in hopes that they still exist within iOS 7. The seventh major version of iOS should be previewed at WWDC 2013, presumably next June, in time for an early Fall release to the public.
