Ridiculous Fishing Hits the App Store with a Splash

From the creators of Super Crate Box, Hundreds, and Spelltower today comes Ridiculous Fishing, a game where you, well, fish. Ridiculously. The premise of the game is simple, yet addicting. You first cast your line into the water and as it goes down, you tilt your device to see how deep you can get. You have to avoid fish in this stage. Once you have either run out of line or actually hit a fish, you will do a similar maneuver as you reel the fish in. But this time, you have to try and catch as many fish as possible, not avoid them. Once they have all reached the top, they get furiously flung into the air and it’s your job to slaughter them. Yes, pull out your gun and shoot them.

As noted by The Verge, the game adopts a very “angular, cartoonish look” to avoid any complications with PETA, the United States organization for the ethical treatment of animals. I personally found the game to be nothing but adorable and, quite frankly, beautiful. The art is simply stunning, and the fun and interactive reward-based gameplay is only icing on the cake for what I expect to be one of iOS’ best selling titles to date. The game is currently available for $2.99 on the App Store, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
