T-Mobile & MetroPCS Merger Approved

The proposed merger between mobile carriers T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS has been approved by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, with FCC chairman Julius Genachowski stating that the move will “benefit millions of American consumers and help the US maintain the global leadership in mobile it has regained in recent years.”

T-Mobile parent Deutsche Telekom originally expressed interest in acquiring MetroPCS last year, after its attempted merger with AT&T from a year prior was unsuccessful. T-Mobile will be able to grow out its LTE network thanks to this move, which is good news when remembering that the network will soon officially carry the iPhone. T-Mobile or MetroPCS customers, how do you feel about this move?
