Tonight, Facebook will be updating their iPhone app and touch website with a geo-location feature called Places. Places will offer features similar to Forsquare, like location check-ins and discovery, so you can let others know what you’re up to and find new points of interest. You will also be able to tag friends you’re with, and publish the story to your profile.
I do feel bad for the other location services, which will likely be crushed by Facebook’s massive user base. Then again, many people don’t use Foursquare or Gowalla because none of their friends do, but since nearly everyone uses Facebook, it will give geo-location the push it needs to break into the mainstream.
Update: If the new Facebook is having issues on your jailbroken device, here is a possible solution.
