But the antenna news is over now, right?
As it turns out, no, it isn’t.
The tech world has been heating up recently with news of a CDMA iPhone that will, of-course, mean that the iPhone is coming to Verizon. But something else has been brimming up. According to an article on DigiTimes, Apple is planning on replacing the glass back on the iPhone 4 with metal that features an integrated antenna.
The report clearly mentions the Verizon version of the iPhone, but it would be unusual if Apple kept all the other iPhone 4s with Glass backs and the ’death grip’ feature. I guess Apple wants to replace the iPhone’s back because it is fragile and prone to shattering, and a metallic back panel with an integrated antenna will help aid the problems that have received negative press.
As for the CDMA iPhone, Pegatron Technology is expected to start mass production in December and will supply to both US-based Verizon Wireless and China-based China Telecom. The CDMA iPhone’s back plate will be forged from metal materials and will feature an integrated antenna, according to Digitimes Research.
