Apple on Tuesday seeded the iOS 6.1.2 software update to all compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models, fixing an important Microsoft Exchange calendar bug for enterprise users. The new version is available for download in iTunes or as an over-the-air software update. iOS hacker MuscleNerd quickly tweeted that jailbroken users should avoid updating to iOS 6.1.2, per usual, until jailbreak developers have a chance to determine the jailbreak compatibility of the latest software version.
Not yet able to test all devices, but it’s looking good for 6.1.2. iPad mini wi-fi and iPhone 5 are still jailbreakable.

Fellow jailbreak developer David Wang (@planetbeing) subsequently tweeted that iOS 6.1.2 does not appear to break the evasi0n untethered jailbreak, specifically claiming that the iPhone 5 and iPad mini (Wi-Fi) remain prone to the jailbreak. Nevertheless, the hacker cautions that not all devices have yet to be tested. Until then, it’s recommended that all users remain patient and refrain from updating.
