Planetbeing broke the news on his Twitter feed, tweeting that he made good progress in collaboration with pod2g. Perhaps an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak could drop sooner than expected.
Made some nice progress today with @pod2g. I think I’ll try to reward myself with a nap.

Cattiaux quickly responded, revealing that the pair was able to discover two new vulnerabilities in iOS while working together. While the hacker does note that initial code execution for a public jailbreak is still missing, this is still great progress that we haven’t heard of in quite some time.
. @planetbeing oh yeah! 2 new vulnerabilities in a day, chance was with us. But we still miss that initial code execution for a public jb :/

Last month, pod2g said he was “very confident” about the potential for a public iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. At the time, he said it could be released in about six months or less. With exciting Cydia tweaks such as Auxo, and Installous shutting down, the jailbreak community could be stronger than ever upon its return.
