“Sometimes you can’t avoid life’s little surprises,” claims Sprint. That is why the U.S.’s third-largest carrier is preparing to launch its Total Equipment accidental protection plan for iPhone on January 25th. The insurance option, similar to AppleCare+, will cost $11 per month and protects you against accidental theft, loss or damage for a deductible fee ranging between $150 to $200.
Comparatively, the AppleCare+ warranty plan for iPhone costs an upfront fee of $99 and covers two incidents of accidental damage due to mishandling your device. There is an additional $49 service fee charged each time you make a claim of accidental damage. So with Apple’s model, you’re paying more up front for this protection. Which plan would you rather have?
