Samsung Galaxy S Sales Surpass 100 Million

Samsung announced today that it has sold over 100 million Galaxy S devices since the first device in the lineup — the original Galaxy S — was introduced just over two-and-a-half years ago. The flagship Galaxy S III accounts for 40 million of those overall sales, with an average of 190,000 units sold per day.

The older Galaxy S II model also represents at least another 40 million of those sales, although it took a much longer time for that smartphone to garner those sales over its more successful Galaxy S III successor. Samsung still lags far behind overall iPhone sales of over 250 million units, but is making up ground quickly.
