Apple Acknowledges Slow iOS 4 Performance on iPhone 3G

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is looking into the less-than-stellar performance of their lastest mobile operating system on the iPhone 3G.

Apple is investigating reports that the latest iPhone operating system causes problems for users of the iPhone 3G, after a series of complaints on Apple support forums and technology blogs. Apple is aware of the reports and is looking into the matter, a spokeswoman told Digits.
Despite having many of the new features of iOS 4 disabled, the phone’s older hardware still can’t handle the update. The Next Web seems to think that iOS 4.1 will alleviate the issue, which would coincide nicely with Apple’s reports.

Are any Touch Fans experiencing this problem, has the 4.1 beta helped? Let us know in the comments.
