The Street is reporting that in addition to the color-opacity problem, the white iPhone 4 is also suffering from light leakage, causing light from the LCD to glow around the back and edges of the device. It’s likely that this problem has been known to Apple, and part of the initial delay. (And won’t result in a further delay.)
Apparently, the back light from the iPhone display screen is leaking out around the edges of the glass and seeping through the back of the white phone, according to a person familiar with the manufacturing process.
Apparently, making white products is nothing like riding a bicycle.
