A number of camera lens have been released for the iPhone over the past few years, as smartphones continue to become a replacement for point-and-shoot cameras. Optrix is one of those companies that was on hand at CES 2013 to unveil its upcoming XD5 series camera lens for iPhone 5, with pre-orders available at $129.95.
The XD5 series is leaner, lighter and stronger than its predecessor for the iPhone 4S, protecting your device while providing a second door for access to the charging connector, headphone jack and microphone. What the XD5 does is takes the 1080p HD of the iPhone and improves the quality with a three layer, all glass, wide-angle lens. But its minimal and non-obtrusive design is what attracts me most.
If you have an iPhone, the XD5 is certainly worth checking out. The accessory should be available by no later than February, and can be purchased at Best Buy, Amazon or Walmart. Do you use your iPhone or other smartphone as your regular camera?
