Samsung released a teaser video today for their upcoming announcement of their new updated Smart TV brand. Consumers can expect an update to Samsung’s Smart Hub. It’s a dashboard-type screen that shows available apps, video on demand services, currently playing source, and other various nifty features.
The Smart Hub can be controlled with several input types, ranging from a Kinect-like hand gesture, voice recognition, smartphone remote app, and of course a traditional — but simplistic — IR remote.
It is possible that Samsung will introduce features that are similar to Apple’s AirPlay or Xbox’s Smartglass technology. Samsung also quoted a “large object” in their teaser, which could mean a larger screen. Their current flagship Smart TV is advertised at only 55-inches diagonally.
