Information for a new jailbreak tweak by the name of “Auxo” was released just a few days ago. At the time, the developers were saying that a release would come “soon.” We now know just how soon they meant: Auxo is available on Cydia for only $1.99.
Auxo is a replacement app switcher for devices running iOS 6. It was created from an original concept thread posted over at The Verge, and boasts features such as swiping to close applications that are currently running, as well as various other features that enable users to quickly access previously obscure controls. Auxo reveals a simple and well-designed user interface for toggling setting such as 3G and orientation, and also allows users to more quickly interact with media.
Currently, the tweak is exclusive to the iPod touch and iPhone. However, the description states that iPad support will be coming in early 2013 – no specific timeframe, though it doesn’t appear that the iPad presents any large technical challenge.
The tweak is available in Cydia for $1.99, and is being hosted on the BigBoss repo. As the tweak is currently exclusive to iOS 6, that limits the number of devices that can run it. If you do have a device with iOS 6 that is or can be jailbroken, be sure to check out the tweak: it truly looks like something that could change the workflow of iOS.
If, like many, you aren’t able to jailbreak your device, be sure to read through our original post, and keep an eye out for future information!
