This year was a truly exciting and competitive period in the smartphone industry. Samsung dominated the mobile space as an Android handset maker with the release of its widely successful Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II devices, while strong demand for the iPhone continued as Apple released its sixth-generation iPhone 5. Most recently, Google’s new Nexus 4 has been generating quite the buzz among consumers as a competitive, low-priced smartphone with a myriad of features.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. This year also featured the launch of the Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD series; Nokia Lumia 920; HTC One X, EVO 4G LTE and Windows Phone 8X; and LG Optimus G and Viper 4G LTE. And even that’s not a complete list. Each smartphone packs powerful hardware specifications and runs on the Android or Windows Phone platform.
