Grand Theft Auto for iPhone and Android Drops Dec. 6th

Drive, shoot and steal. Rockstar has announced that PlayStation 2 best-selling title Grand Theft Auto Vice City: 10th Anniversary will be making its iPhone and Android debut on December 6th, just over one year following the game’s launch on the Mac App Store.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City made its North American debut for the PlayStation 2 in October 2002, becoming the console’s best-selling game ever in less than four years. The game was later ported to both Xbox and Windows, in addition to being released on the Mac App Store last year.

“This 10th Anniversary Edition brings the full experience of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City to mobile devices, with native high-resolution graphics and several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms including updated character models and lighting effects, new and more precise firing and targeting options, a fully customizable control layout and native support for Retina display devices,” Rockstar posted on its blog.

The third-person shooting game will be available on the App Store and Google Play, with both versions priced at $4.99. Among the supported devices for the game include the iPhone 4 or later, iPad, fourth- and fifth-generation iPod touch, Motorola Razr / Razr Maxx / Razr Maxx HD, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S III and Google Nexus 4, 7 and 10.
