Apple issued a press release late Saturday to inform the public that it has reached a mutual ten-year licensing agreement with HTC, dropping all lawsuits with the Taiwanese handset maker in the process. The license applies to both current and future patents, although specific details of the settlement remain confidential.
“HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus on innovation instead of litigation,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.
“We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC,” said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. “We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation.”
