AT&T, always trying to actually accomplish that “more bars in more places” ad mantra, is investing another $8 billion in to its network infrastructure around the United States. Announced today, AT&T stated that they plan to expand their 4G LTE network to cover more than 300 million US customers by the end of 2014. While Verizon has a large lead in LTE rollout on both AT&T and Sprint, AT&T is catching up quickly with investments such as this. Verizon will likely hold the title of largest LTE network for some time to come, though both AT&T and Verizon have a huge lead on the floundering Sprint.
AT&T is also expanding its other initiatives, such as its broadband internet services.
