Apple Providing Live Stream of October Event Online and on iOS, Apple TV

Great news for those that are looking to tune into the excitement today, as Apple has made a live stream of its special October media event available online and on its iOS and Apple TV devices. On the second- or third-generation Apple TV running 5.0.2 software or later, simply tap the new Apple Events button to watch today’s keynote.

To watch the event unfold on your iOS device, you’ll need to be on iOS 4.2 or later. There’s a catch for online viewers, however, as you’ll have to be using the Safari browser on a Mac that is running at least OS X 10.6 to watch the event live. Nevertheless, this is very exciting — and unusual — that Apple is offering a chance for everyone to watch the event live.

iFans will be hosting our own liveblog of the event later today, so be sure to tune in at 10:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM Eastern) to join in the conversation. We will also be pushing the most important updates live on our Facebook and Twitter pages for our visitors that might be stuck elsewhere during the event. If you are around before the event starts, be sure to tune in to the iFans liveblog about 30 minutes prior to the event for some pre-event coverage. We’ll be making our best guesses and recapping anything that might be coming later today.
