iOS 6.0.1 Drops in ‘Coming Weeks,’ iOS 6.1 Enters Testing For Release After Holidays

Apple is now testing iOS 6.0.1 with carriers in the United States for release in the coming weeks, according to a reliable source for BGR. The software update will address a number of issues, including a horizontal line bug when a keyboard or app folder is open, a problem with the camera flash not functioning, issues with cellular data not working and a bug that allowed Passbook pass information to be accessed from the lock screen.

iOS 6.0.1 is also said to have improved Wi-Fi support, a consolidated cellular data toggle switch for iTunes Match and addresses a bug that caused Exchange meetings to be cancelled for an entire group of contacts. Additionally, it is reported that Apple is just now beginning to test iOS 6.1 for release after the holiday season. Apple’s iPad Mini is likely ruled out for iOS 6.1, but could potentially ship with the iOS 6.0.1 software update.
