9to5Mac is reporting on information from sources of theirs that the updated iMacs will feature similar or identical price points to the current versions, which would likely eliminate the possibility of a high-end, retina version. A retina display was one of the more sought after features for the new iMacs, which are rumored to feature a redesign. The iMacs are supposed to launch later this year, after a possible unveil at Apple’s October 23rd event.
9to5Mac also has news of the Mac Mini, Apple’s smallest and cheapest computer, which states that they too will remain at the same price points. Such a move for the Mini isn’t surprising, since its price is its greatest asset. There also aren’t any expensive components, such as a display, that could be added to bump the price up, so a simple spec upgrade seems likely for the Mini. The new Mac Minis are also likely to be announced at the October 23rd event, and will ship soon after.
