New iPod Touch Now Available For Purchase on Apple’s Online Store

A few of our members today on the iFans discussion forums, those that have been anxiously awaiting the release of the fifth-generation iPod touch, noticed today that Apple has added a “buy now” button to its online store on the iPod touch splash page. iFans can confirm this button’s placement on the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia online stores.

Customers are now able to outright purchase the new iPod touch, although Apple only provides a very broad shipping date of October. Earlier today, in an internal message to staff, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that the new iPod touch will begin shipping over the next few weeks. Apple launched the new iPod touch, $299, alongside the iPhone 5 earlier this month.
