Jailbreak Community Played Active Role in Improving Security of iOS 6

Apple has posted a support page on its website that details the security content of iOS 6, and the jailbreaking community played an active role in discovering some of the vulnerabilities and bugs that have been patched. To begin with, iOS hacker and security researcher Cyril Cattiaux — known better by his handle “pod2g,” — is credited for discovering a SMS spoofing issue and SMS cellular connectivity issue that have both since been fixed. Additionally, the iOS Jailbreak Dream Team is listed under two different security issues related to executing arbitrary code in the kernel and IPSec.
