So, this basically kills the theory that Apple’s just pushing these iPhone parts and renders to confuse everyone. Rene Ritchie, the man who (accurately) brought word of the September 12th event, along with various other tidbits of the actual hardware of past and future devices, is stating that the leaked renders and parts do indeed accurately depict what the next iPhone will look like.
In short, that means a metal back, a larger (taller) four-inch screen, a thinner, narrower body, and various other tweaks to the build quality and overall look of the iPhone. iOS 6 will undoubtedly bring changes to make the OS more at home on a 16:9 aspect ratio, and there’s always the chance that Apple has something up its sleeve. After all, they typically do.
