Next-Generation iPhone Could Have A6 Processor

Despite numerous product leaks over the past few months, the processor that will power the next-generation iPhone has remained unknown — that is, until now. Apple enthusiast Sonny Dickson has done some digging and uncovered component leaks that visibly show an Apple A6 system-on-a-chip on the board.

It has been speculated in the past that Apple would stick with its A5 processor or use the new iPad’s slightly modified A5X chip for the next-generation iPhone, while industry source DigiTimes noted in early July that Apple would use a quad-core ARM processor that makes use of Samsung’s Exynos 4 chip architecture.
