New iPod Nanos Expected in September, Supply Reportedly Drying Up

Along with the rumored announcement of the iPad Mini, the iPhone 5, a new iPod touch, and the release date of iOS 6, the September 12th event is supposedly going to play host to a new iPod Nano. A German rewards club has decided to stop shipping the iPod Nano until sometime in September, reportedly because of a “re-introduction” of the device by Apple:

There is an unexpected delay in the delivery of your Shell CLUBSMART premium “Apple iPod nano 8GB blue” due to an upcoming re-introduction of this device from Apple (according to our information). Therefore Apple is currently not able to deliver the “old” model..

In other words, it sounds as if the stock is drying up on the current model – a tell-tale sign that an update is imminent. The update could be a form-factor change, or it could simply be a capacity bump. Only time will tell, but it does seem as if Apple is going to update their iPod Nano line at least once more.
