iOS 6 Beta Hints at 9-Pin Dock Connector

A smaller dock connector is something that we’ve heard about since February, although it remains unknown if the port will have 8 pins, 19 pins or something alternative. New evidence uncovered by 9to5Mac in the iOS 6 beta, however, suggests that it might be a smaller 9-pin dock connector after all.

The iOS 6 beta reference in particular includes the phrase “DeviceSupports9Pin,” which is presumably related to a smaller dock connector with just 9 pins in comparison to the current 30-pin dock connector on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. According to iMore, the smaller dock connector will make its way to the entire iOS device lineup this Fall.
