Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter Now Available

Apple has added a new Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter to its website, a new accessory that allows users with the new MacBook Pro with Retina display or MacBook Air to connect FireWire peripherals to their notebook. Apple first announced the adapter during its launch of MacBook Pro with Retina display at WWDC 2012 in June. The adapter costs $29 and is currently shipping in one to three days. The product page has fluctuating online and offline at this hour, presumably due to high traffic. Apple also sells a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter for $29 on its website.
