Apple Releases Safari 6 for OS X Lion

Apple today released its new Safari 6 web browser for OS X Lion for users that have not yet upgraded to the new Mountain Lion operating system. The latest version of Safari is packed with several new features including unified search fields, an offline reading list and “Do Not Track,” along with improvements to performance, stability, compatibility, usability and security.

Other new Safari features such as tabbed browsing, iCloud Tabs and built-in sharing are limited to the new OS X Mountain Lion update only, so users will have to upgrade from Lion to take advantage of those new abilities. Safari 6 is available as a free download for OS X Lion users from Software Update.
