Apple will announce its financial earnings results for the third quarter of the fiscal year, or second quarter of the calendar year, next Tuesday, July 24 on a conference call that begins promptly at 2:00 PM Pacific (5:00 PM Eastern). Apple is likely to have boast strong iPad and Mac sales due to the new iPad, new MacBook Pro with Retina display and other refreshed Mac notebooks, however iPhone sales could experience a decline as the purported next-generation handset is on the horizon.
As with past fiscal quarters, iPod sales could also continue to experience a downward sales trend. Apple has neglected to update the iPod touch since late 2010 and has largely forgotten about its iPod nano, iPod classic and iPod shuffle offerings. Nevertheless, it is likely to be yet another strong quarter overall for Apple as it continues to prove that it can be a serious player in the technology industry even after the passing of co-founder and visionary Steve Jobs.
