iPhone 3GS Gets Shared Photo Streams and VIP Mail on iOS 6 Beta 3

Good news for iPhone 3GS owners today, as it has been discovered by MacRumors that Shared Photo Streams and VIP Mail has been added to the iPhone 3GS with the release of iOS 6 beta 3. Both of these features had originally been disabled on the iPhone 3GS, which has been sold by Apple for a rather surprising three years and counting, but it appears that Apple has decided to show some love to adopters of its entry-level handset.

There are still several features on iOS 6 that are not compatible with iPhone 3GS, including Flyover and turn-by-turn navigation, but many people figured that the iPhone 3GS would not be eligible for the iOS 6 software update to begin with. iOS 6 is currently available as pre-release beta software for registered Apple developers and will be publicly released in the Fall, potentially alongside the next-generation iPhone that is both taller and thinner in design.
